Local Attractions

Western Oregon’s July weather is typically blue skies with highs around 25 to 27°C (74 to 85°F) with little chance of rain.  There are ample outdoor adventures to be had pre- and post meeting in the surrounding area.  Crater Lake is a must see with its incredibly clear blue water and stunning views at every turn around the 50km(31-mile) parameter. The Cascade mountain range offers amazing hiking and mountain biking.  The South Sister can be walked up and the Mt. Hood lodge and glaciers are outstanding.  The Oregon Coast changes with each turn along the 101 highway but don’t expect to swim unless 10°C (50°F) water is to your liking (wetsuits can be rented). Kite flying almost always possible.  The Redwood forest is just a 5-hour drive south of Corvallis, with lots to do in between (e.g. the Oregon Caves, the Rogue River, and tasting wines in Southern Oregon).  Heading North takes you to the Columbia gorge, Mt. Saint Helens, and to the Yakima Valley of Washington with their incredible wines.
